Beginning in Audio Books

Beginning in Audio Books
I am in the process of converting all of my books to audio Books. The recent program Amazon has commenced of allowing authors to convert their ebooks has been a boon for me. Last summer Google Books initiated a similar program, thus all of my books on Google have been converted to audio books. This is possible due to the technology of digital voice conversion. The way this works is that a computer program waves a magic wand and instantly converts text to sound.
At least, I think that is how it works.
I guess I don’t really need to the technology behind it to use it. I am hoping that by the middle if this year all of my books will have audio book versions on Amazon and Audible. Another company I use allows me to upload the Google Voice files into their system and use those files to make audio book files that are then submitted to Barnes and Noble, Kobo and several other audio book sellers. In a few months every one of my books should be available in three formats, softbound, ebook and audio book.
Audio books have become popular because the format allows people to listen to the books while driving, working or any other activity in which it is hard, or impossible, to read a book.
For me, the text to voice technology has been a boon because it allows me to convert many books quickly to audio. I had been working on creating audio books, however it is a laborious process which takes a great deal of time. First a recording of me reading the book is necessary. Then the audio file must be edited for content and then for sound quality. Uploading the audio files can be time consuming and then, it the sound quality is not correct, they must be corrected and re uploaded. With the new electronic dictation process the task is quick and easy.
