4/13/2023 First Harvest – Mescaline Mix
By mid-April the first of what will be many vegetables from the garden was ready for harvest. Mescaline mix is a blend of lettuces, kales and other early to mature vegetables that comprise a great tasting, nutritious salad. These plants are meant to be harvested when the plants are young and tender, typically 30 – 40 days from planting. The make-up of these mixes varies from seed company to seed company. Some offer sweet, medium and spicy blends, depending upon what you want.
Snow Peas Blooming
The snow peas are beginning to bloom, promising some sweet, crunchy additions to the dinner table soon. This variety of snow pea will mature in approximately 30 – 40 days. These are edible podded peas and make great additions to salads, stir fry dishes or to just eat as they are.
